PowerSurge100 is a faith-based charitable organization committed to having a powerful impact on non-profit, faith-based organizations with programs, services, or other faith-based activities in the areas of: family, education, social ministries, women's ministries, sports, and media.
Grant applications are received from local faith-based non-profit organizations and a committee reviews the numerous grant applications and chooses the five which are judged the best. The membership is then presented with these five possible grant recipients who have the opportunity to make a ten minute presentation at the annual meeting. The members select the grant recipient by a plurality vote at the annual meeting. 100% of the member's contribution goes to the faith-based grant winning recipient.
PowerSurge100 was inaugurated in Baldwin and Mobile counties in southern Alabama in 2008. Other cities and counties will be added as branches to the original home location as expansion is warranted.
The 2011 $100,000 Grant Winner is Prichard Preparatory School of Mobile County
